NCR Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is the NCR? The National Corvette Registry (NCR) is a group of Corvette owners and enthusiasts who enjoy and celebrate the Corvette in all aspects!! We love all 6 generations of Corvette, and while we have tons of information on virtually all Corvettes, we proudly specialize in one type of Corvette: YOURS!!

  • What is the goal of the NCR? Our #1 goal is simple. We strive in every way to be THE Premier Central Corvette Community on the web, and around the world!!  We believe in Corvette owners and enthusiasts who desire to come together for fun, and we support their desire for a virtual archive of Corvette information, facts, history, and the Latest and Best Corvette News on the web!!

  • How does the NCR cater to us all??  By listening to you, our members!! We believe in communication!! We offer our members a variety of ways for you to stay in touch with the NCR, and all of your friends you will meet here as a member of the NCR, through our NCR Forums and Photo Gallery, through our NCR News, through our quarterly newsletter,"The Corvette Corner", through email directly to NCR Dave, our founder and commissioner, and of course, by simply contacting the NCR via our contact form or through postal mail.

  • What are the "Corvette Corners"?  The individual NCR Corvette Corners, such as www.c5corvettecorner.com or www.c6corvettecorner.com are accessed by clicking the specific generation you are looking for at the NCR main home page, and through each individual Corvette Corner of the NCR, (via the webpage or on the forums) you can gather info, exchange ideas, meet those who own the same generation Corvette, and even plan the next specific generation event you will be attending. Each Corvette Corner is loaded with technical information, and is a completely integrated part of the NCR. Upon joining the NCR, you will have complete access to ALL Corvette Corners, the entire NCR website, and all sections of the NCR.

  • What is the NCR News? The NCR News is, for all intensive purposes, your link to the world that revolves around your Corvette. The news is updated on a daily or weekly basis, depending on the flow of the current news, and features the very latest and best news from the National Corvette Museum, the corporate world of Corvette, Corvette Racing, and the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, KY. The NCR will also post news concerning your club events and activities in our news section, on the forum, on our calendar, and in the quarterly newsletter because we completely support your willingness to be involved in and to be a part of all things Corvette!!

  • Are the NCR Forums FREE to join?  Yes, the NCR Forums are free to all of those who desire to associate with other Corvette owners and enthusiasts. For the members of the NCR, we also offer a "MEMBERS ONLY SECTION" of the NCR Forums because we believe that all members should have some extra "perks" for their willingness to support what the NCR is doing for Corvette owners and enthusiasts worldwide.

  • What are the NCR member benefits, or perks, you mention above? Glad you asked!! Well, all of the member benefits can be found by clicking here, but here are just a few: your own personalized membership card which includes a picture of your Corvette on the front, what section of the National Corvette Registry you are registered in, your club affiliations and membership numbers on the back, your NCR registration number and info on the front, your personal website, and the generation logo of your Corvette. The membership cards are fully explained by clicking here.

  • What are the requirements to join the NCR? None.... other than to have a passion for the best sports car ever made: the Corvette!! You do not need to own a Corvette to join the NCR, you just must be a Corvette enthusiast, and have a willingness to participate in the Corvette fun!!

  • Can I submit articles or pictures for the website? Absolutely!! NCR Members (or people involved in the Corvette industry somehow) are welcome to submit articles, pictures, videos, etc. Please contact the NCR if you are interested in submitting your info to the NCR. Be sure to read our User Agreement and Privacy Policy as well concerning your submission. Often, we reward those who offer submissions to the NCR.

  • How do I become a moderator on the NCR Forum? You must be a valid NCR member, and you must know your area well that you intend on moderating. Please submit all requests for forum moderation by PM (private message) upon joining the NCR and the NCR Forums.

  • How do I become a member of the NCR Staff? First, you must be a valid member of the NCR. Lifetime Members are preferred (but not required) for appointment to the NCR Staff, because of their valid desire and willingness to commit to a level of dedication, unbridled support of the NCR, and their obvious love of a Corvette.
The requirements are as follows: total dedication to the NCR, a willingness to volunteer to help at NCR functions and events, a leadership ability that does not waiver in it's role, or in it's loyalty to the NCR, a total love of Corvette, knowledge and aptitude to do the job you are applying for, simple computer/ internet skills, access to a computer with internet access, people skills, NCR knowledge, a good attitude and personality, a willingness to attend the NCR functions and events with a mandatory showing for the annual 2 day NCR Gathering at the NCM (our banquet and awards dinner), and most of all, a willingness to further expand the NCR all over the world!!

  • Does the NCR Staff position pay well? Frankly, no; not at this moment. But the benefits are great!! Most positions with the NCR are voluntary, with different rewards annually for those who volunteer. Obviously, these rewards and benefits do include FREE entry to all NCR Events and functions, including our annual 2 day NCR Gathering at the NCM (the only exceptions would be something planned by the NCR that is an exorbitant fee like a cruise, or trip overseas for the 24 hrs. of LeMans, etc. The NCR cannot support the expense involved right now for something of this magnitude.), usually an award for your work at our annual awards banquet, significant recognition by the NCR, including a listing in our newsletter and on the website, significant discounts on merchandise for sale in the NCR Store, FREE T-shirts, FREE NCR business cards with your name and position on them, FREE comps including parking at hotels and shows, upgraded rooms when available, the best parking at NCR events and functions, and the first of everything that involves the NCR (including new T-shirts, Lapel Pins, Stickers, etc., etc.). The comps will usually be picked up by Dave Hale, the NCR Commissioner, in appreciation for the efforts you, as a staff member, put forth for the NCR. The pay, or extra perks, if any, are approved by the staff, and usually proposed by the NCR Commissioner. Eventually, as the organization grows, these positions may become normal employed positions, but for now, they will remain as described above, and work for the NCR able to be completed at your home. Please contact the NCR if you are willing to help out.

  • What organizations does the NCR support? The NCR supports the National Corvette Museum through donations to the museum, and support by the NCR including membership, etc. The NCR also supports "Corvettes Conquer Cancer", by donating a percentage of the registration dues. We stand behind all organizations who support the Corvette and it's heritage.

  • What if I have other questions that are not posted here? You can email the NCR here, and we may even post your questions and our answer here.

The NCR is here for you!! Our purpose is to provide a central Corvette community on the web, and around the world, and to provide a database of information (both technical and non-technical) for our members, while also providing a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for Corvette owners and enthusiasts, both here on the web and at Corvette events around the world, and of course, to have a GREAT TIME doing it!!

We feature both Corvette owners and enthusiasts, and their C1-C6 Corvettes on our website AND in our quarterly newsletter! The National Corvette Registry also participates in many scheduled Corvette events around the country, and we also organize special NCR gatherings, where you can meet with other C1-C6 owners and NCR members to exchange information, show your NCR colors, and HAVE FUN!!!
